HOERBIGER has been a global player from its very beginnings. Industry leaders around the globe quickly recognized the groundbreaking benefits of Hanns Hörbiger’s steel plate valve, and the company’s founder granted international licenses for the use of this key technology as early as the beginning of the last century.

Iris Schierhuber joined HOERBIGER in May 2022 after holding various positions in international human resources (HR) management. She is responsible for People & Culture in the Compression Division and is a member of the global P&C Leadership Team.

With its automation solutions, the German WEISS Group is one of the world’s leading system suppliers to the automotive industry, mechanical and plant engineering, life sciences and electronics. Its North American subsidiary, based in Willoughby, Ohio, USA, was looking for a reliable, easy-to-install electrical slip ring for car body production tables. WEISS engineers found what they were looking for at Deublin, a HOERBIGER company.

As renewable energy sources become increasingly important, battery energy storage systems provide a stable power supply, mostly using lithium-ion battery technology. The solutions offered by HOERBIGER’s Safety Business Unit protect people and the environment while complying with the associated regulations.

For optimum offroad capability, a German sports car manufacturer relies on a chassis height adjustment system from HOERBIGER for its “Dakar” limited-edition model. HOERBIGER technology makes the car just as dynamic on bumpy sand and gravel roads as on the racetrack.

A new plant currently being built in Changzhou will unite the production of the HOERBIGER Compression Division and the Safety Business Unit in China under one roof, starting in 2024.

Growth. A term that has once again become a persistent topic of discussion in the media – generally as something to be concerned about. High inflation, rising interest rates and a difficult geopolitical situation are slowing economic growth, we read everywhere. “The World Bank lowers its global growth forecast and warns of a possible recession,” claims another headline. And just at this time HOERBIGER is proclaiming a phase of growth – how does that fit together?

In the 2022 fiscal year, the HOERBIGER Group succeeded in achieving the highest sales in the company’s history despite a challenging economic environment. Now the company is setting its course for the future.





Dr. Martin Komischke, President of the Board of Directors of HOERBIGER Holding AG, has been intimately familiar with the HOERBIGER Group for three decades – twelve years of these from the perspective of CEO. During the interview, he rates the past fiscal year, describes – from his perspective – the most important success factors for the future, and ventures a business outlook for 2023. Personally, he has set important goals for himself for the coming years.

2022 marked the first full year for Dr. Thorsten Kahlert as CEO and Chairman of the HOERBIGER Executive Board. Despite a precarious worldwide situation, the Compression Division reported a great fiscal year. Thanks to the employees’ technical expertise and a strong focus on the customer in a difficult environment, the Division successfully grew again and developed new markets.

In the WaVe innovation project, the Commercial Vehicle Cluster (CVC) developed a hydrogen-powered device carrier as a prototype. The Minister of Economics of Rhineland-Palatinate visited the development center in Wörth for a test drive.

This year’s ConExpo in Las Vegas was full of surprises and amazing news. Among the stars of the exhibition was the hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine (ICE) from HD Hyundai Infracore equipped with H2PFI injectors made by HOERBIGER.

IEP Technologies has added a new explosion protection solution for process vessels to its portfolio: The flameless explosion vent can be used where standard devices are no longer sufficient.

On 15 December 2022, HOERBIGER commissioned its first on-site solar plant in India. The ground-mounted power plant was officially inaugurated during the visit of the Executive Board to HOERBIGER India Pvt Ltd. (HIPL) in Kondhapuri village.


With the groundbreaking of the new site in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, HOERBIGER strengthens its presence in China and lays the foundation for further growth in an important market for the company.






Doctors and nurses make an enormously important contribution to health care during the Corona crisis. HOERBIGER supports them in this and manufactures protective walls for medical practices, which provide employees with more safety from infection in everyday life. In the training workshop, apprentices produced the first 50 movable walls, which HOERBIGER is donating to 23 medical practices in the region.


13 young researchers from the foothills of the Alps have qualified for the state competitions in Vilsbiburg and Dingolfing in "Jugend forscht" and "Schüler experimentieren". This means that nine of a total of 57 projects were awarded first place in the regional competitions sponsored by HOERBIGER. In addition to the regional wins, the jury awarded 48 other prizes or placements to the participants. in 2019, 102 young researchers took part in the regional decision in Schongau.
The HOERBIGER trainees' energy-saving competition has come to an end. Eight teams with 36 participants from Schongau and Penzberg spent three months working intensively on the question of areas in which the company can conserve resources. The winners were four apprentices from the Drive Technology and Compression Technology divisions. They investigated the energy-saving potential of HOERBIGER Kompressortechnik GmbH in Schongau and each received 100 euros in prize money for their outstanding results.

Zug / Oulunsalo - Effective February 1, 2018, IEP Technologies, a HOERBIGER Group company, has acquired the business, portfolio, patents and trademark rights of Atexon Oy, a specialist in spark detection for industrial explosion protection based in Oulunsalo, Finland.
